[Portuguese below] Yesterday or the day before I ran into this message, and today I decided to go google and search for a fix for this. After following a blog post [What to Do When Your External Hard Drive Won't Show Up | PCMag](https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/what-to-do-when-an-external-hard-drive-wont-show-up) and not finding what I needed, I just decided to search for the error message “The file or Directory is corrupted or unreadable”. And right there, as the first result, I found this amazing Youtube video, which I intuitevily decided to follow with success ! Here is the video: [[SOLVED] - The File Or Directory Is Corrupted Or Unreadable - Hard Drive Wont Open - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix13LRGmzk8) And here is the solution there presented: 1 - Open Command prompt (on Windows search in the bottom left corner, enter `cmd`) 2 - enter the following commmand `chkdsk /f d:` where d is the hard disk drive letter. After this you are immediately able to access your hard disk and files ! Well, at least I was…Urray ! Now it is time to figure out where I should backup the disks content! Depois disso, você poderá acessar imediatamente seu disco rígido e seus arquivos! Bem, pelo menos eu estava… Urray! Agora é hora de descobrir onde devo fazer backup do conteúdo dos discos!
